It also runs Pigiame a horizontal classifieds platform currently functional across East Africa.Description: Our Ideal hire is one who would manage advanced, dynamic and high-performing SEM activities, he/she should be a relentless A/B tester and a quick thinker overall.
This person will be responsible for planning, optimizing, implementing and analyzing paid online marketing activities.
The intern will report to the Online Marketing-(Paid Channels Officer).

Responsibilities

    • Manage a sizeable pay-per-click search marketing budget while creating programs serving all divisions/brands through all relevant paid channels (Google & Facebook)
    • SEM performance tracking, analysis and reporting
    • SEM budget planning and recommendations.
    • Create ad copy and perform keyword research, analysis and optimizations
    • Partner with all disciplines to ensure consistent messaging and promotion through all search channels, including product development, content generation, social media managers, direct marketing, and customer service
    • Work closely with product marketing and corporate marketing teams to develop a deep understanding of our products and business to drive winning keyword strategies.
    • Develop insightful, thorough recommendations to improve technical, design, content, on-page and off-page optimization elements of the relevant websites
    • Provide weekly & monthly reporting and answer results questions on-demand.
    • Achieve targeted ROI and Ad Spend for SEM campaigns on a monthly basis
    • Stay current with changing technologies and guidelines to continually improve our internet marketing initiatives and achieve greater results.
    • Support other marketing activities and promotions as needed or assigned

Desired Skills & Experience


Background required

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/ IT or a related field. Previous experience in working in an online marketing department is a plus.
    • Google Adwords& Analytics experience is a must. Google Certified Professional preferred.
    • Familiarity with social media marketing channels like Facebook, twitter is a plus.
    • Experience optimizing SEM campaigns through ad copy, keywords, geo-targeting and landing page optimizations.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to interact and manage expectations of clients, internal departments and management.
    • Excellent data analysis skills and strong computer proficiency required.
    • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Google Drive Suite, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills and highly detail oriented habits
    • Ability to work on multiple tasks and ability to meet deadlines
    • Professional attitude and appearance
    • Fast learner with strong problem solving skills
    • Must be a team player
